Mom-On-The-Go {The Goto List}

Let’s talk meals. Three a day if you’re a stay-at-home mom. That’s twenty-one meals a week. Now I don’t cook for each meal and if you do, I bow down! HAHA! That’s a lot of cooking!

I have a difficult time just coming up with evening meals. So as a Mom-on-the-go I needed a list to help me when my brain just can’t think of another thing. I needed a list when I’m feeling uninspired. I needed a list when I’ve had a long day, or week.

 {we are vegetarian so when you see “meat” items they are soy based or handmade alternatives}

  • I suggest making this list with your hubby. Get him to agree that whenever you cook from the list he will be happy and enjoy the meal! I love to cook when I know the meal is appreciated…who doesn’t?!
  • I also suggest that there be a few more labor intensive and a few really simple meals.
  • Thirdly, most of the ingredients should be readily available in your pantry. That’s another reason why “the goto list” is great!

In honor of keeping things simple I thought I would share a quick crock pot recipe. It may not be the healthiest meal, but its delicious and great on occasion:

Place in the crock: 2 cans cream of celery, 2 cans cream of mushroom, 1/2 container of sour cream, 1 packet of dry onion and mushroom soup mix. Add meatballs of choice. Cook on high 3-4 hours.

This is great over pasta or rice. If you would like a veggie I think peas, carrots, or edamames would taste yummy.

Hope you have a great 4th of July!
