Mom-On-The-Go {Exercise}

Exercise…Is this the dreaded word or the delightful word {especially on a Monday morning} ? HA! I used to L.O.V.E. exercise! There is just something about the way you feel after a great workout. It didn’t really matter whether it was weights, cardio, or stretching. Oh how I would push myself so that I could barely walk the next day… {what was I thinking???}

BUT NOW…

I’m a MOM! With tiny tots! Who wants to be that sore and have to carry a baby around? Or lug their 2 year old toddler up the steps but can’t because their arms feel like jelly?

SO…

My mentality of “exercise” needed to be changed {just a scosche}. My body still NEEDS the exercise now more than ever! So today I thought I would give us some Mommy tips on exercise and some things to keep in mind:

TIP #1 – You will feel better and have more energy if you exercise!

TIP #2 – Exercise can take on many forms. Play tag with the kids, go for a walk, play sports with the kids, or even have them do an exercise video with you. They will love the time you are spending with them! And you are teaching them healthy habits!

TIP #3 – You DON’T need to make exercise an all day affair. Try 20 minutes after breakfast or lunch. When you are feeling groggy in the afternoon try going for a walk or do some deep breathing and stretches outside. The fresh air is great for you!

TIP #4 – You are more likely to eat healthier if you are exercising. I certainly DON’T want to waste my time and efforts by sitting down to eat junk after a good workout.

TIP #5 – Try to remember this acronym for your lifestyle and you will be good to go!

N.E.W. S.T.A.R.T.

N – Nutrition

E – Exercise

W – Water

S – Sunlight

T – Temperance

A – Air {fresh}

R – Rest

T – Trust in God

{I did make this up on my own. There is a real program you can follow.}

Have a Wonderfully Happy and Healthy Day!
