Mom-On-The-Go {Coupons}

I’m sure you’ve heard or seen these extreme couponing shows. Well let me say, that’s not me. I wish I did a little more to achieve a good deal. I’m a practicle person. I take {4} kids with me pretty much everywhere I go and this includes shopping. They do very well, but it still reminds me of a circus! HA! I mean there are {5} of us strolling around the store. Go shopping with that many {kids or not} and I think it would be the same…well almost. LOL!

So what does this have to do with couponing? Since I don’t shop when there is a special deal or take a handful of coupons with me, does this mean I need to pay full price for things? Certainly not!

Here’s my advice on it:

1. Buy specialty items {certain snacks or drinks} when they are on sale.

2. If you know you are going to by clothing or shoes in the next week or two, do a quick online search to see if the store is running any specials.

3. If you happen to be a sale follower, please take a few minutes and email or text it to your closest friends. I appreciate when one of my thrifty friends say to me, “Hey did you see such and such is on sale?” or “There is a coupon in the merchandiser {a newspaper I already receive} for this or that.” Wow this is truly a blessing!

4. Take a step back and ask yourself if the item that’s on sale is something you will really use. I’ve bought something because I was getting it really cheap, but then it sat in my closet or pantry. HUH? That was still a waste of $5 or whatever you spent on it. Be wise!

5. And of course there is always a good yard sale. This is a little tougher if you have as many kids as I do. But if you can work it out, I say, “Go for it!”
